We have had a record dry summer here in Champaign County this year (2017). In fact, according to the Illinois State Climatologist Office, most of Champaign County is currently listed as abnormally dry. Thankfully, this week we’ve finally received a much needed inch of rain. This should allow your yard to return to it’s green glory for the remainder of the Fall season and we’ll likely start mowing again soon.
Here at CP Lawn Service, we maintain yards throughout drought conditions by mowing at a higher level so that the grass in your yard has the best chance of drought survival. You can reference the photo above of a recent picture of a yard we mow and maintain in west Champaign. When we mow the grass at a taller height, our yards remain greener longer, and bounce back much more rapidly once the rains return.
You may have also noticed the stripes in the photo above. We take pride in providing this service at every lawn we maintain without any added charge.
